This is your companion on any sea voyage. I carry one with me every day. You should too and I'll tell you why.
When I was 5 years old my Dad gave me a rigging knife. For those of you who sail or work on boats you know that a sturdy and sharp knife is an important safety tool. Shortly after I started the Marblehead Salt Co. my venerable rigging knife gave up the ghost. It had been sharpened one too many times. For those of you who know me, you know that I am a stickler for quality. I don't want many things, but the few things I do have should last and serve well -- whether it's guitars or salt or knives. It took a couple of years of searching for THE RIGGING KNIFE -- but I finally found it -- and so I'm going to share it with you all.
It's made of a cast cobalt tungsten blend and features a titanium clip. Each knife is hand made and assembled by David and Deb Boyd out in Arizona of all places. David literally wrote the book on knife making and his father lost a leg to a taught line which could not be cut in time. So making an excellent rigging knife was, you could say, was preordained in David's future as a knife-maker.
They're not cheap. They shouldn't be. I trust my life on the open water to these knives.
